I am Ugur Kayan also known as Eric, originating from Turkey’s Aegean region Izmir. I have been working in hospitality since 1994, with my first job being in Turkey’s tourism heaven, Marmaris. I moved to Manchester in 2000 and carried on my career in hospitality in the UK. I always had a special interest in both Turkish and Italian wines. This interest grew as I became a waiter and worked at management level in many different bars and restaurants. I soon became a wine connoisseur, building my career with a wine focused approach. In the present moment, I run a Turkish wine bar and Grill in Prestwich, Manchester, and am well known and respected as a Turkish Wine expert here in Manchester. I have many great links with vineyard owners in Turkey as-well as Venue owners in Manchester. I have built an amazing knowledge of wines and more recently gin, through working in the hospitality industry. My latest project Turkish Delight gin was born in Prestwich/Manchester, during the development of a drink menu at my current workplace, Anatolian Grill, and work started from there almost immediately. It took us a few years to get there, and finally Anatolia Turkish Delight Infused Gin was successfully born. And now, here I am with a great boutique bottle of gin.
